2023 COACHING STAFF


Galen Snyder - Head Coach

Coach Snyder guided Pennsbury Football to PIAA District One Championships in 2006 and 2014. He also led the Falcons to SOL National titles in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2022. As a player, Coach Snyder was a Captain for Coach Dundala’s undefeated 1985 Pennsbury Falcon squad as well as a Captain for the 1990 Columbia University Football Team. Coach Snyder teaches social studies at Pennsbury High School. He and his wife Amy have three adult children and four grandchildren.

 

Mike Cantrell - Strength Coach

Coach Cantrell returns for his sixth season as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Falcon Football team having served under Coach Mike Elko in the early 2000s and under Coach Galen Snyder in 2014-2015. He graduated from Pennsbury in 1976 where he played on two league champion baseball teams.  Mike retired after 38 years as a supervisor for Public Service Electric and Gas. He lives in Levittown with his wife Lori, a fellow Class of '76 graduate of Pennsbury. Together they raised three children, all PHS graduates, Katie (Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball) HOF '99, Sean (Football and Lacrosse) '06 and Patrick (Football and Track) '09. They also have 5 grandchildren attending Pennsbury schools.

 

Tony Checchia - Safeties, Co-Defensive Coordinator

Coach Checchia is a 2011 graduate of Council Rock South HS.  He went on to play college football at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA.  Tony is entering his 10th year of coaching at the high school level, seven of which were spent at CR South.  During this time, his roles included serving as Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, in addition to coaching Defensive Backs.   Tony also teaches Social Studies in the Council Rock School District.  Coach Checchia is the oldest of five children, and currently lives in Northeast Philadelphia.

 

Dave Crocker - Kickers, Punters and Specialist Coach

Coach Crocker was a soccer player at Pennsbury (72) and the next four years at the University of Rhode Island.  Has been coaching football specialists at every level of football since 1983.  As the Head Coach at Precision Kicking and Punting, Coach has been a paid specialist consultant at many colleges and universities of every level.  Notable schools include Penn State, Temple, Villanova, Princeton.  Coach Crocker has coached specialists at every school in the Suburban One League at Precision Kickers and Punters. Coach Crocker’s proteges have kicked at every level of the game including the NFL. In addition to coaching at PHS, Coach Crocker is the Chief Strategic Officer of Strategic Process Management LLC.  He lives with his wife Colleen in Holland, PA and has no free time due to the demands of 7 grandchildren and never ending ‘honey-dos’.

 

Jackson Fagan - Running Backs and Corners

 Coach Fagan is a former Falcon and is in his second year coaching the running backs and the cornerbacks. After finishing his Hall of Fame career at Pennsbury in 2007 he continued playing at West Chester University where he was an All-Conference performer, a captain as a senior and graduated in 2011. Coach owns his own hospitality supply business in New York City. He lives in Fairless Hills with his wife Taylor and two daughters, Maeve and Maura.

 

Bill Ferrara - QB’s

Coach Ferrara is a 1978 graduate of Neshaminy High School where he played football. He went to Bucks County Community College until 1982 and then transferred to Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey), where he graduated in 1985. Coach Ferrara has coached high school football for 43 years at different high schools (Neshaminy, Council Rock, Council Rock South, and Bishop Egan). He is a retired Public Educator (health and physical education teacher, assistant high school principal, high school principal, and superintendent). Coach Ferrara has been married to Susan for 32 years, and has adult children Tyler (29) and Courtney (28).

 

Robinson Gautier- Sophomore and Varsity SE’s

Robinson Gautier graduated from Neshaminy High School in 2000 where he played football.  Coach Gautier went on to Kutztown where he graduated in 2004 with a degree in political science; he went on to get his M. Ed from Holy Family University in 2013.  This fall will be his ninth season coaching Pennsbury football.  Coach Robinson has been working at Pennsbury High School as an English teacher since 2015; he lives with his wife Kimberlee and daughters Isabella and Sophia in Langhorne.

 

Dave Howe/Defensive Backs and Special Teams Coordinator

 Coach Howe is a 2004 graduate of Harry S. Truman High School. Before graduating from West Chester University, and La Salle University, he played defensive back at Utica College. This is Coach Howe’s 11th year coaching football and his 5th at the high school level. He is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher at Charles Boehm Middle School and the Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach at Pennsbury High School. Coach Howe lives with his wife Megan and son Jacob

 

Matt Ott - Offensive Line

Coach Ott is a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia. He has his Bachelor's degree from Delaware Valley University and  M.Ed from Cabrini University. He was a member of both schools' football programs. This is his second year as a varsity coach at Pennsbury. He was previously the O-line coach at Cardinal Dougherty High School and a member of the 9th grade coaching staff at Pennsbury. He has taught in the Business Computer Information and Technology Department at Pennsbury since 2005. Coach Ott currently resides in Philadelphia.

 

Luke Snyder - Linebackers, Co-Defensive Coordinator

Coach Snyder is a 2016 Pennsbury graduate and former Falcon Linebacker who helped Pennsbury win the 2014 District One Football Championship. Coach Snyder graduated from Kutztown University in 2020 after playing 4 years of football, twice earning all PSAC honors, helping Kutztown win two PSAC East championships, and serving as Team Captain during his senior season. Coach Snyder has a master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from IUP and works at Pennsbury High School.

 

Cliff Stout–Defensive Line 

Coach Stout, a former Falcon football player and a 1974 graduate, recently retired from teaching English for 24 years at PHS. Coach Stout began coaching football for the Falcons in 1992, coaching at the middle-school and freshman levels. In addition to his on-field coaching, he was the videographer for 13 years. Between 2005 and 2015, Coach Stout was the Director of Football Operations for the Falcons, helping Coach Snyder with the day-to-day operations of running the 7-12 grade program.
